Towards the end of 2017 our regional services manager, Peter  Serhatlic approached our group to ask if we would consider a merger with Grimsby and Louth Advanced Motorists.

Due to a lack of observers and an ageing committee they are struggling to keep the group running.

Our group would remain unchanged except for our committee being responsible for providing administration services for those GLAM observers who are willing to continue preparing new members for the test in the Grimsby area, and also to assist with any observer / driver training as necessary. The GLAM committee would no longer exist and any members of their group would be welcome to join the new joint group. Any funds held by GLAM would be transferred to our Scunthorpe group. the Louth members would transfer to Lincoln.

Grimsby was our parent group when we started 40 years ago and it would be very sad to see the demise of a group that has put so much hard work in for many years. A new name would reflect the new extended group, whilst trying to maintain both groups identity.

Following several meetings with all parties the possibility of a merger is progressing. We are having a social meeting on the 28th Feb 2018 at our usual venue Redbourne club, Scunthorpe. Following on from our guest speaker will be an extraordinary  general meeting to further discuss the merger.

Everyone is welcome to attend, and we hope you will come along and support us and indeed pass on any suggestions / ideas that you think might help.
